Last Day of Preschool

Abby's last day of preschool was a fun day for her. She'd previously finished up her workbook (one of only two students to finish the workbook early!) which meant complete and total play time for her last day. From her first day where she forgot to give me a hug and kiss good-bye (until I reminded her) until her last she was always excited to go to school, learn, and play with her friends. Our switch to Imagination Studios was a great one and I have zero regrets.

I have found that Pinterest is a GREAT source for Teacher's gifts. I especially love the gift card printables. Mostly because I think a gift card is something they'd like and it doesn't matter if they get ten of them (as opposed to things like coffee mugs). Plus, while I don't mind eating Abby assisted food I'm not sure everyone else would enjoy it the same. :-)

Here was this year's thank you gift. Since Abby's the only one giving teacher gifts (and we really, really loved Ms. Amy and how she helped us with some difficult situations) we ended going a little more expensive than I probably would have otherwise.

Compared to her first! Unfortunately we added the storm door so there's not an easy viewing difference in height, but to me she's taller and looks more preschooler rather than toddler. Plus, the hair!

I had to add in the "Sassy Pose" picture. After I was all done taking pictures Abby asked to pose for one more and this is what she did. Love it!

Thank you Ms. Amy for all your love and dedication you gave this year. Abby definitely benefited by having you as her teacher! You were there for her during some tough times with a friend as well as encouraging her to continue her love of learning. She looked forward to going to your class and loved playing you during pretend time (How many times I heard "Ms. Amy's class, please line up!" from her bedroom I don't know.). We will both miss you next year!

Mid-Columbia Library Field Trip

The last preschool field trip of the year was to one of our local libraries. This field trip included a tour of the library itself, having story time, creating a craft, and then getting a tour of the gardens. We left for Seattle immediately after the field trip (my Grandmother/Abby's Great-Grandmother was having a birthday party the next day celebrating her 95th birthday) and so we didn't stay to have a picnic lunch and play at the splash park or playground outside the library, but we still had a good time with what we were able to do.

Walking to the preschool book's section. I just thought it was sweet how Abby, who normally does everything she can to be line leader, randomly got picked by the librarian to be line leader for the day. I think it made Abby's day!

Their craft was to create a pig that went along with the pig story there were read. Here she does a great job cutting along the lines.

The garden tour was nice for a garden. I'll be honest and admit gardening really isn't my thing but Abby seemed to enjoy what she was looking at. The kids section of the garden included a Wizard of Oz and Where the Wild Things Are themes. Here the Dorothy and friends statues are on their way to the Emerald City.

Muffins with Mom

Abby's preschool had an event at school where Mom's where invited to the first part of the school day to enjoy juice and muffins with their kid's preschool class. Since Nate got to make a Valentine's day shark box during Donuts with Dad I was curious to see how "my" special day would go. I had fun having breakfast with Abby while she told me all of her favorite things she liked to play with, then actually playing her favorite games, and finally getting a wonderful gift that Abby made just for me!

Abby LOVED playing with these magnetic shapes. I tried finding a set for her to play with at home but the $75+ price meant that she gets to have a lot of fun with them at preschool. :-)

My Mother's Day gift! Abby made a rainbow vase just for me and then included a picture of herself.
